Liverpool

Yesterday i went to liverpool university. They were having an open day and i thought i would see what it has to offer for engineering. They want BBC which i should get in the summer. So after a 4 hr drive we arrived at the uni at around 9. Yes that's means we set off from home at 5 and that i got up at 4!!!!!!!! I was knackered for the whole day.

I got a tour round the engineering department and a talk which made me thing of doing electrical instead of mechanical engineering. But then i remembered how much fun but hard i found system control in GCSE hence i think i'll still do mechanical. The department is massive and they just spent £35 mill on it. there are loads of labs and extremely cool robots!!!!!

After that tour we had lunch. I wanted Mcdonalds but my parents took me to an italian restaurant. It was nice accept i couldn't pronounce anything on the menu. stupid Italians.

We next went on a tour of one of the residential areas off site for the uni. they are massive and have big gardens. If i were to stay there i would try to get a self catered with an on-suite. It's better to have ur own shower and bathroom. Also the self catering would prepare me well for the 2nd yr.

Also around liverpool i saw steve and sarah. we didn't really have time to chat as we were on tours led by different people.

After all of that we went home. we got back around 8. it was such a long day. Overall i wouldn't mind going to liverpool. the departments are nice but the residential areas need a refurbishment.

Other then that noting really has been happening this wk. It's october on Thursday and even scarier it's less then 3 months till Christmas. Also in 69 days/ 8 days and 2 months I'm 18!!!!!!!!

Exemption from activities

Hello again

2 posts in one day.

For a whole 3 days i was exempted from Peter Symonds activity thing :). Sadly this didn't last long. But how did this happen?? Go on guess (u won't get it unless i already told u)

Well basically Hannah Barham takes 4 A2s and is taking a whole bunch of resits in the winter hence she should be allowed to be exempt from activities. She decided to send a email to the activities department. She asked to use my ipod to send it as she didn't want to walk all the way to ashurst (see where this is going). She somehow got on to my AOL email and didn't sign out. She sent the email from that hence i got exempted. Now my AOL email is rosshillpc@aol.com hence they knew it was me but at the end of the email she sent, she had put her name. the stupid activities department just didn't read this hence they thought it was from me. This whole thing happened on Friday but i didn't realize it till Sunday when i got back from father and son cub camp.

So i sent an email on Sunday saying that i shouldn't be exempt and that Hannah Barham should be and i should be doing chess and board games on Monday lunch times. well it was all fixed on Monday and everything was gd except i still have to do activities :(.

Driftwood + Crazzzzzzy Cub Camp

I haven't written on here since Wednesday and a lot has happened since then.

On Thursday i did go and see Driftwood at the railway for the 3rd time (pics are on fb). It was all gd fun. They had a new bass player Jordan Tate who i hadn't seen properly for around 6 yrs. He was an awesome guitarist. Also Bass was there for the first time. I gave him my glow stick thing but he didn't even use it until after the gig. After driftwood were done we went to a play park where we messed around and played tag with my crazzy glow stick thing. Oh what fun we had.

Friday was average but i was completely shattered from the night before hence i wasn't really looking forward to the cub camp that evening as u have to be v awake to deal with some of these cubs. So i arrived at the campsite in the new forest at around 6.30. I then set up my tent and got to know some of the cubs i didn't know and i talked to Chris (another explorer scout) a lot. The theme for all of the camp was America. We split all the cubs and dads into groups. Related cubs and dads weren't allowed to be in the same group. Us leaders/helpers weren't allowed to be in groups instead are job was to observe and help all. The first mission we gave them was to make a sketch. They had to dive into two bags full of paper and choose and a stunt and a theme. We had some weird combinations like the Oscars with Al Capone. After that we sent the cubs to 'sleep'.

Saturday was much better and after a gd sleep i was wide awake and ready. The cubs were the complete opposite as they got no sleep and were all shattered. After breakfast they got in the same groups and were told to launch a rocket into space by using rope and wood. Most of the creations were leaver type systems which worked well but not as well as our design which took a second to build. Basically a see saw and we had a fat man jump on one end. Ours went the highest. All the cubs and dads were then told to change into their costumes. I also got changed into my cowboy costume. We had many different outfits shown to us. There were classics like statue of liberty and superman plus we had a few cowboys. Overall we had loads of Bart Simpsons. we had to vote on the best costume and we chose a dad and boy dressed up as Marge and Maggie Simpson. Next we took them on a hike then we had a camp fire where i had beer :).

Sunday came along and the cubs were a lot more awake. we gave them another pioneering project this time involving string and bamboo sticks. They mission was to make a replica scale down version of the Mayflower ship. We gave them a hr and then we raced them down a river. It was a close chase with the winner changing often. After that we packed up and ended the camp. I had fun over the 3 days but it was tiring. Annoyingly on Monday i had cubs meaning i had 4 days of these annoying children. One of the cubs, Russel, is about to move on to scouts. the group won't be the same without him. He's a role model to all the cubs. He brilliant at whatever sport, has nearly all the cub badges, well-behavedish and he has a heart of gold.

COLLEGE IS SO VERY BUSY

Hello

60th post :). Soon i'll be at the big 100

College is still average but so busy. I swear it wasn't this busy last yr. the corridors are so full and it's an effort to get on the bus. I got so used to those 6 wks where we had half the students in college. It was nice. But the busyness has so far not made us got back to varlley. Sure the varlley is slightly better now with it's computers but the cookies i hear aren't as gd and it's still the varlley. Luckily this wk has been slightly easier due to all the lessons i miss as we scare the AS. 2day was enrollment for activities and I'm doing board games at Monday lunch times with: Saff, Tom, Becky, Bass, James, Jacob and maybe Ollie. That's most of our group. It should be awesome.

Sadly i will not be getting Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for quite some time as it doesn't come out till the 25Th as i live in Europe. But i did get the new Muse album off itunes for £7.99. Which i think is a gd price and it meant i could see what the whole itunes LP on itunes 9 is all about. The LP version of Muse's album comes with all the songs, lyrics, things about the songs like what they are about, photos and videos of things like the making of uprising and Supermassive black hole live. To be honest there's a lot of stuff hence I know understand what all the fuss about LPs is about. Nothing else is really different in itunes 9. The store is easier to use and there are now genies mixes but no one ever uses genies anyway.

As there was a new itunes it meant a new update for my ipod which is 3.01. Not that much has changed except genies for apps and genies mixes but like i said earlier i will rarely use these. But the update for my ipod was free so all is gd :)

I'm all packed for this wkend and i seem to be taking loads but i don't care.

My uni search is a lot harder then i thought it would be considering over 50 unis offer the mechanical engineering course which i want to do. I've looked through the first 20 and so far the best one for me is Liverpool as they want BBC which i should get :).

2morrow driftwood are having another gig. This times it's at the railway again. It should be gd and i haven't seen them play for a while. I not sure though who is going except bass. oh well.

I think that's about it. i start at 8.30 2morrow :( so i should be of to bed. Sleep time :)

Back to college

Hello

College has started once again :(. So far the work hasn't been that hard and most of my teachers are impressed by the grades i got.

I'm defiantly resitting physics and I'm handing in the form if i remember.

My history teacher suggested i resit history to make my B a mid B as it right now is a B by only one mark. But I'm not going to. I was predicted a C and i thought i was gonna get a D. I got a B so I'm not resitting.

It's nice to be back to college and see everyone but I'm already completely shattered. I can't wait till next wk where we miss Monday, Wednesday 1st period, Friday 1st period. I should start at 8.30 on both Wednesday and Friday but now I'm not.

After next wk I'll be counting down each day till October half term. And in half term I'm going to ALTON TOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait

Next wkend I've got a father and son camp to attend with my cubs. I'm of course going there to help out. But there is fancy dress and the theme is America. Our themes are always broad. Makes it easier for them and us. So I'm gonna dress up as a cowboy.

Right that's it. I'm off to Bed as i start 2morrow at 8.30 :(

Theory Test Passed

Hello

It hasn't stopped raining hence I'm not happy.

Yesterday was quite a gd day as i passed my Theory Test. Sure it was my 2nd attempt but i still did it. My appointment was at 8.15 so i had to get up quite early. But i passed :)

In the multiple choice u need to get 42 out of 50 and i got 45.

In hazard perception u need to get 44 out of 75 and i got 55.

So that was all gd

But that wasn't the only thing i did yesterday. I also went to town with some friends. There was me, James, Emily, Jacob, Bass and Laura. We went to see District 9. It's a film about aliens. It was gd but confusing. Loads of awesome action. At town we saw OLLIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes not for that long but we saw him and we talked to him!!!!

College is on Monday :(. 8.30 start with a stupid hour long tutor. I don't want to go.

Hello there

I'm back from amazing Cyprus. I got back to my house at half 9 pm yesterday. I'm back to proper Internet speeds like 3-4.5 mbs. So much better then 0.7.

I did, like i said i would, go to the beach. twice. it cost me 10 Turkish lire each time (about £4) and that got me a guaranteed sun-longer and a towel and as it cost money it was quiet. I swam in the sea!!!! and i didn't get any eczema!!! a very big thing for me. Basically last time i went to Turkey (about 4 yrs ago) i went jet skiing with my dad. With jet skiing u don't get that wet but just a few splashes of salt water brought the back of my legs in itchy eczema hence i wasn't to found of going back into the sea.

Anyway the rest of the holiday was amazing. Sure all we did was sunbath i didn't care. But after two wks i wanted to be home. The flight home was fine and film wise i was treated to Night of the Museum 2 which i also hadn't seen. I liked it but i much preferred the original. My mum had a massive fit cause she spilt wine down her trousers on the plane but it came off with some Vanish when we got home.

College starts on Monday :( and i got a history essay to do before then. I haven't started it yet but I've got all my notes ready to transfer into paragraphs. I have so many people to meet up with in so many few days.

I still may resit my physics paper. I'm gonna talk to my tutor first.

Anyway that's about it. i happy to be home but it hasn't stopped raining.
